Our personal present-day dream story of Jonah is inspired by Ruth Dagan's assumption that the original biblical story is the reconstruction of two dreams dreamt by the same person.

At the start “Whirlpool”, follows the original story: Jonah does not want to go to Nineveh and tries to flee but realizes that he needs to face his life’s mission. What we, the actors, show to the public is kept in the form of dream images, following each other in an emotional inner logic - as in a dream full of deep meaning to be understood more in the emotional unconscious level.

Some sages suggested that the Book of Jonah may be dealing with Man before birth. Man does not want to go out in the world and mend its flaws. However, he is given no choice but to be born.

We use spectacular images to show our own personal artistic comments on the story of Jonah based on our own dreams and life experience.

In the second biblical dream Jonah warns and cries: “In forty days Nineveh will be destroyed.”

The people of Nineveh repent and change their greedy behavior and Nineveh is saved.

​

However, in our days, it seems, events are taking a different turn.

We are the inhabitants of the modern-days states, where people worship money, oil and power at the expense of the environment.

​

Will we change as we undersand the world is going head over heels to its downfall?

​

In the biblical story Jonah leaves the city to see what will happen to it. He sees that the citizens changed their ways and God has mercy on the city, its multitude of inhabitants and animals.

Our storyteller looks from far-away in the Universe at Earth.

Will Earth be spared?
